Our church is situated on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula about an hour’s drive from Melbourne.
The church is located on the traditional lands of the Boon Wurrung people. We acknowledge that the land is sacred to them as it is to us.
The Village Church is a busy and active church with a strong commitment to ministry with people in all ages and stages of life. At the heart of our church is a strong worshipping community along with a range of other activities and educational opportunities that can be discovered through the pages of this website and through our weekly Church News.
We are an inclusive church that welcomes all, with a commitment to hospitality. Jesus said, “I came to bring life and life in abundance” and rather than providing a rigid faith framework we invite people into a journey of Christian faith and reflection seeking the abundant life Christ offers. We like to think we offer a waterhole ministry, drawing people to the living water of Christ, rather than restricting people with faith fences.
The Village Church is a member of The Uniting Church in Australia a church with strong social justice values. The Uniting Church is an inter-conciliar church, meaning that members discern in the Spirit the direction of the church and make decisions through consensus. The Village Church is led by a Church Council and is part of the Presbytery (Region) of Port Phillip East.
As Jesus sent his disciples into mission, so we encourage our church members to represent the church and Christ in every aspect of their lives. Jesus example as he knelt and washed his disciples feet encourages us to live out our faith through service and giving of our time, talents and resources. You can read The Village Church – Church – Mission details here.
Most importantly, we invite you to visit, because it is always in the connection with people that a church comes alive.
